Notes

Isaac D. Glenn probably born in Tennessee [1850 census] on 8 Nov 1799 [Rochefort p.105], or possibly Kentucky on that date. He was reared in Kentucky, until his family moved to Crawford Co. & Orange Co., Indiana before 1819. He married in Crawford Co. in 1819, & lived in Orange Co., IN until 1828 when he moved to McLean county, Illinois. Two years after that he moved to Schuyler Co., Illinios, and finally in 1832 moved to Magnolia twp., Putnam Co., Illinois, where he lived the remainder of his life. In Magnolia, he was an active member and Deacon of the Baptist church. Politically he was a democrat, and later a "free soiler". The Monroe Larkins diary gives I.D. Glenn as the father of Elizabeth V. (Glenn) Larkins. Jackie Hagel says his middle name was "Dawson". 1820 Census: Isaac B. Glen, in Southeast Orange Co., Indiana p.127. 1 Male 16-25, 1 Female 16-25, 1 person employed in agriculture. (Also there is Samuel Glen 021201-10001-0400). Note that Isaac B. Glen is enumerated adjacent to Archibald Allen (010001-01101-0200). 1820 State Census: Shows Isaac B. Glen. This census enumerates all males age 21 years or more. So he was at least 21 years old. 1830 Federal Census (index): Isaac D. Glenn, in Schuyler Co., Illinois p.82. 1832: Settled in Putnam Co., IL. On March 18, 1835, "Isaac D. Glenn" purchased 160 acres in Putnam Co., Illinois in two transactions for $1.25 each. These were Federal Land sales. Record Ids 302769 and 302770. The township is identified by 31N meridian 3 in the electronic Illinois land index (on the web). The first was Section 31, part W2NE, Vol. 704 page 8. The second Section 5, Vol 704, page 2. One of these transactions also involved Samuel Glenn, who purchased two 80 acre lots in Putnam Co., Illinois. 1840 Census: Isaac G. Glenn shown in Putnam Co., Illinois, p. 193: 1M(<5), 1M(10-15), 1M(15-20), 1M(40-50), 1M(80-90), 1F(10-15), 1F(15-20), 1F(40-50).
