Samuel Glenn

Samuel Glenn moved to Orange Co., Indiana before 1820, then moved to Illinois in 1830, where he settled on section 31 in Magnolia Twp., Putnam Co., IL, being one of the earliest pioneers in that area. He participated in the Black Hawk war. His wife, Elizabeth, died there, after which he went to Iowa where he died. [From Bio of Young A. Had: Isaac, Elizabeth, Esther, Rebecca, Thomas (never married), Samuel Jr. Samuel Glenn was mustered for the Black Hawk war on 18 Jun 1832 at Henepin. He was a private in the company of Captain William Haws, in the mounted volunteers, fourtieth regiment, fourth brigade, first division of the Illinois militia, commanded by Col. John Strawn.
