!Will: James Gore of Camden District, South Carolina. Dated 3 Apr 1783, recorded 29 Oct 1784 [Will book A 1, p. 241, Apt 28, pkg. 981]. Names sons John Ashford Gore, Joshua Gore, Eliazar Gore. Grandsons Michal [c]onden and Davis Gore. Executors: wife Elizabeth Gore and son James Gore. Witnesses: George Thomas, Elisha Gore, Michael Gore. DAR Patriot index lists a James Gore Sr., b. c1705, d. SC 1784, wife Elizabeth. On 8 March 1779 he was put in the Continental Line and served until 24 March. He was then pressed by Samuel Knight, wagon master, and served until 3 May 1779. [A.A. 2985]. Note his age at time of service.
