Currently, children come from IGI. More research necessary. "History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois 'Centenial Record'" by John Carroll Power, Springfield, Ill., Edwin A. Wilson & Co., 1876, says: SNODGRASS, JAMES. The place of his birth is not known, but he was married in Cocke county, Tenn., to Elizabeth Snodgrass. They had eleven children in Tennessee, and moved to Sangamon county, Ill., arriving about 1820, in what is now Cotton Hill township. Of their children -- (listed) James was appointed Ensign on 8 July 1800 in Cocke County, Tennessee.
