David R. Briggs removed after his second marriage to Mobil, Ala, taking with him his son David R. Jr., his daughter Ann Amanda and his wife #2, Jane (--) Briggs. Later with Ann Amanda he returned to N.Y. on a business trip and died there in 1864 (cause unknown) intestate. At the surrogate's court of the County of New York, Hall of Records, 31 Chambers St., N.Y. 7, N.Y., papers granting administration of his property names his son Theodore I. and George Street administrators. He was a stage carpenter. His and his 2 wives's burial location is unknown. !Census (1850): David R.
