According to Elijah Frances Atwood, "Ye Atte Wood Annals (1928), he "Came to Plymouth 1635-6, evidently with his uncle, John Atwood". He reports that he probably also had brothers Harman, John, Stephen, and Henry, and perhaps also William of Charlestown.

!Probate: His estate was probated (along with that of his son John) on 7 Mar 1676, adm by Nathaniel Atwood. Deed signed by widow and other heirs in 1685. The widow's estate was probated in 1702, Nathaniel Atwood, Adm.
(Note: The ATWOOD name appears on the passenger listing of the PLANTER of London, Nicholas Trerice, Master, which sailed from London about April 10 and arrived at Boston June 7, 1635. He was at Plymouth MA 1635-36 where he owned land, was a constable, on the grand jury, freeman 1647. Later removed to Plympton.
