This seems to give three newspaper sources for her birth, although the notes do not give the issue or mention parentage. !Death: From bible that was in possession of Lillian M. Briggs Gosman in 1954, and transcribed by Lillian, transcription reading: "Eliza Bowrosan died July 16th 1895" with Lillian's handwriting next to it: "mother of Cornelia E. Briggs". ---------- Research notes: Notes of Lilliam M. (Briggs) Gosman contain the following with a check by it: Ward 17 NYC, 1860, John & Mary Jones b. Eng abt 1790 Ward 17 NYC, 1850 [?furish furs?] pg 122 on Vol 55 Roll 897 NYC 1880 Wd 19 house #37-209 + [?furnish?] Roll 894 NYC 1880 Wd 19 house #132-360, 138-366 [?furnish?] I haven't been able to find her in 1880 census yet, but I did find an Eliza Barowsen, mother age 52 b. PA, in household of William and Addie Hutchins. Interesting, this seems to be the household of Adeline (Briggs) Hutchins, the dau. of David R. Briggs. This entry gives father's birthplace as Eng, mother's as PA. Is there a connection? The dates are off...
