Notes
The father of Abraham and Jean Hasbrouck, patentees of New Paltz, N.Y., was a native of Calais, France and with his two sons and a daughter married to Pierre Hayaar emigrated to Manheim in the Palatine, located in Lower Germany (embracing roughly Alcase, Loraine in France and Wurtenburg in Germany) which was the refuge of Huguenots fleeing from persecution in France. In Manheim they all lived several years. In 1673 and 1675, his sons went to America.
