!Obituary: Washington Post 14 January 1897 (http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jdamewood&id=I3800), reads: "Died: Hoover - On Wednesday, January 13, 1897, at 12:45 p.m. at her late residence, northeast corner Fifth and I streets northwest, Mrs. Lydia A. Hoover, widow of Samuel Hoover. Notice of funeral hereafter." Then in Post on Friday, 15 Jan 1897: "[Lydia was]...in the seventy-eighth year of her age...." and that there would be "Services Friday, at 2 p.m., at the Assembly Presbyterian Church, corner Fifth and I streets northeast. Friends are invited."
